چکیده

A spatiotemporal network is a spatial network (e.g., road network) along with the corresponding time-dependent travel-time for each segment of the network. Design and analysis of policies and plans on spatiotemporal networks (e.g., for path planning with locationbased services) require realistic models that accurately represent the temporal behavior of such networks. In this paper, for the first time we propose a temporal modeling framework for spatiotemporal networks that enables 1) generating an accurate temporal model from real temporal data collected from any spatiotemporal network (so as to be able to publish the temporal model of the spatiotemporal network without having to release the real data), and 2) augmenting any given spatial network model with a corresponding realistic temporal model custom-built for the specific spatial network (in order to be able to generate a spatiotemporal network model from a solely spatial network model). We validate the accuracy of our proposed modeling framework via experiments. We also use the proposed framework to generate the temporal model of the Los Angeles County freeway network and publish it for public use.

Modeling of spatio-temporal of albedo over Iran

The aim of this study is modeling spatiotemporal variations of albedo. This study was conducted using simultaneous effects of several components, such as wetness of surface layer of soil, cloudiness, topography and vegetation density (NDVI), using MEERA2 model with a resolution of 50 in 50 km during 2000-2010 in Iran. The results of spatial analysis of albedo values in Iran showed that the high...

Spike timing dependent plasticity: mechanisms, significance, and controversies

Long-term modification of synaptic strength is one of the basic mechanisms of memory formation and activity-dependent refinement of neural circuits. This idea was purposed by Hebb to provide a basis for the formation of a cell assembly. Repetitive correlated activity of pre-synaptic and post-synaptic neurons can induce long-lasting synaptic strength modification, the direction and extent of whi...

Spatiotemporal Kriging with External Drift

In statistics it is often assumed that sample observations are independent. But sometimes in practice, observations are somehow dependent on each other. Spatiotemporal data are dependent data which their correlation is due to their spatiotemporal locations.Spatiotemporal models arise whenever data are collected across bothtime and space. Therefore such models have to be analyzed in termsof thei...

A Framework for Discovering Spatio-temporal Cohesive Networks

A spatio-temporal cohesive network represents a social network in which people often interact closely in both space and time. Spatially and temporally close people tend to share information and show homogeneous behavior. We discuss modeling social networks from spatiotemporal human activity data, and alternative interest measures for estimating the strength of subgroup cohesion in spatial and t...
